Goal: Lose 20lbs of fat ( which means a few more lbs total because it’s inevitable I lose some muscle).
Why: So that my clothes can fit again, I can go back to being the firecracker energy ball I once was and so I turn heads when I walk into a room (vanity is real folks, and it’s motivating)
How…..well….that’s the tricky part right?!?!?!
Guess it makes sense to start at the starting place. For me that’s food. Food is 80% of weight loss and 90% about how I feel. I eat when I’m happy, I eat when I’m sad. I eat when I’m bored and I eat when active. I eat pretty much whenever and always. I love food. I can talk for days about a sauce or what makes a perfect sandwich (it’s all about the bread)…. Maybe I should have started a food blog…maybe this blog will talk a lot about food. I guess it must, cause food is the fastest path to weight loss, and weigh gain, and having tons of energy and having none.
So I’ll start at the beginning at that is with what I eat. In the past I was an avid crossfitter, I’m still a fan and most of the workouts you’ll see on this blog will support that. Paleo and Primal eating seem to work best for me… I like the Primal because it seems to focus more on a lifestyle, which is what I need: a lifestyle overhaul.
So step 1 get back to eating primal (not sure what this is, check out Mark Sisson’s blog, though I will do some explaining as I go)
Today I’m focusing on eating lean meats, veggies, nuts, seeds and some fruit. In that order. In the past I would have said I’m cutting out the starches, but I’m taking the less dramatic route and going to focus on what is good and not bad. We’ll see how it goes.
